Are you thinking of becoming a foster carer? Here is some information about what it involves.
What is a foster carer?
A foster carer is someone who provides a temporary home for our bunnies in need before they are able to be adopted into their forever homes. They are people who may not be able to commit to buying a rabbit or wanting to help out a rabbit or two! We also offer foster to adopt, so you can trial what it is like to have a rabbit before committing to adopting one permanently.

What do I need to foster care?
Here at Centennial Park Rabbit Retreat we offer all equipment required for an indoor set up for your foster bunny. So all you need is a roughly 2x2 metre space in your house in a quieter area, patience and lots of love. Our fosters will generally buy food for their foster rabbits but this is not a requirement.

Is there anything else I need to know?
Medical Issues: As a foster carer, it’s important to be aware of common medical issues that can affect rabbits. If you notice your rabbit is sick, it’s important to contact us immediately. We do not expect you to pay medical or vet bills, but we expect you to get in touch.
Time frame: Our minimum foster period is 3 weeks. It can be as long as you would like but rabbits will be rotated if adopted.
